The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has shared exciting news about the Bacolod Philippines Temple. The open house and dedication dates are now set.
A media day will occur on April 13, 2026, with tours for invited guests on April 14-15. Following these events, the temple will open to the public from April 16 to May 2, excluding Sundays.
The dedication will be led by Elder Neil L. Andersen on May 31, 2026, at 10 a.m., with a rebroadcast at 2 p.m. This special event will be available to all congregations in the Bacolod Philippines Temple district.
President Russell M. Nelson first announced the temple in October 2019. He emphasized the importance of temples, stating they offer eternal blessings to families as the Church grows. Remarkably, nearly 900,000 Latter-day Saints worship across 1,325 congregations in the Philippines.
In the same month of May 2026, the Davao Philippines Temple will also have its dedication. Much of the growth in temple construction reflects the Church’s commitment to serve its members. As of now, there are active temples in Cebu City, Manila, and Urdaneta, with several more under construction and planned throughout the Philippines.
Here’s a notable fact: California’s population of Latter-day Saints is around 730,000, and among the 12 temples in the state, the Sunnyvale California Temple is notably new. It’s interesting to see how both regions are enhancing their spiritual communities through these new temples.
