Exciting Moves: Packers Secure Two New Players on Active Roster!

Over two seasons, he has made 37 receptions for 342 yards and two touchdowns. He also has some special teams experience with four tackles last season. Whyle’s time at Cincinnati was impressive, earning All-American Athletic Conference honors and setting a school record for tight end touchdowns.

McCallan Castles is a newcomer from the University of Tennessee. Standing at 6’4”, he initially signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2024. Castles has played at multiple universities and has a total of 1,226 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns over his college career. He brings valuable experience, having played for different programs, including UC Davis and California.

Drake Dabney is another rookie tight end, previously with the Tennessee Titans. He played most of his college career at Baylor and transferred to TCU, where he had a solid final season. His collegiate stats include 65 receptions for 873 yards and eight touchdowns. At 6’5”, he’ll be a significant presence on the field.

Kristian Welch, in his sixth year, has been around the league, contributing mainly on special teams. After brief stints with various teams, he brings experience and depth to the Packers.

Michael Woods II is a third-year player who has shown promise since being drafted by the Cleveland Browns. He played 15 games, primarily as a depth receiver, and is looking to make an impact with the Packers.

The Packers’ strategic roster moves indicate their intent to support their tight end and special teams units while adapting to injuries and performance needs. This flexibility could be vital as the season progresses.
