Austin, Texas, is buzzing with excitement as the 98th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays approaches, set for April 1 to 4 at Mike A. Myers Stadium. Track and field enthusiasts can look forward to thrilling competitions. Meet director Andrew Klingsporn recently announced the 36 athletes who will compete in the decathlon and heptathlon.
Texas will showcase impressive talent. Sophomore Tabea Eitel, who secured 12th in the pentathlon at the NCAA Indoor Championships, will compete in the heptathlon alongside freshman Iana Ahetz-Etcheber. For the decathlon, Brock Lewis and Jonathan Hertwig-Odegaard will proudly represent the Longhorns.
A bit of history adds to the intrigue. The meet record for the decathlon stands at 8,708 points, achieved by Texas Ex Leo Neugebauer in 2024. The heptathlon record belongs to Anna Hall of Florida, who scored 6,412 points in 2022.
The multi-events kick off on April 1, with the women’s 100-meter hurdles at 10:30 a.m. and the men’s 110-meter hurdles following at 11:00 a.m.
