Exciting New Addition: Isabeau Levito Teams Up with Amber Glenn and Alysa Liu for World Figure Skating Championships!

Isabeau Levito has been selected for the U.S. team for the World Figure Skating Championships in Boston this March. She earned her spot despite missing the recent national championships due to a foot injury. Levito is the 2024 World silver medalist and the 2023 U.S. champion. Her inclusion on the team is subject to her return to competitive skating.

This year, she joins U.S. gold medalist Amber Glenn and silver medalist Alysa Liu. For skaters who want to petition for a team spot, U.S. Figure Skating has guidelines saying they must show readiness by performing complete competition programs by a certain date.

The official selection committee typically bases the team on the results from U.S. Championships, though there are exceptions. Levito has previously been the top U.S. women’s singles skater at the last two world championships and placed fourth in 2023.

Before her injury, Levito ranked fourth among U.S. women in total scores in international competitions this season, just behind Sarah Everhardt. Everhardt, who is 18, finished third at nationals, aiming to make her first senior world team. She is the first alternate for the senior worlds and was also picked for February’s Four Continents Championships alongside Glenn and Liu.

To maximize the number of women’s spots for the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics, the top two U.S. women at the World Championships need to achieve a total placement of no more than 13. For example, they could place sixth and seventh.

Glenn, who finished 12th and 10th in her last two world appearances, has had a breakout season, winning all five competitions she’s entered this year, including the prestigious Grand Prix Final. Liu, the 2022 World bronze medalist, made a strong comeback from a two-year break, nearly securing her third U.S. title.

It’s an exciting time for these athletes as they prepare for the world stage and aim for the Olympics!
