The anime will be directed by Yūzō Satō at KONAMI animation, with producer Ryō Hino overseeing the project.
The Gensō Suikoden: Star Leap game has an intriguing story. It centers on the Rune of Change, one of the 27 True Runes that shaped the world. It starts in a village near the Scarlet Moon Empire. After a successful hunt, the village celebrates, but an unexpected attack turns joy into chaos. Our hero, the village chief’s son, along with friends Hisui, Shirin, and Shapur, sets out to bring peace back to their home. This tale unfolds before the first game and after Suikoden V, and it will feature complete voice acting.
Notably, Aki Shimizu, the manga artist behind Suikoden III, is creating a manga adaptation for this new game. The theme song “Campanella” was beautifully crafted and performed by Kaho Nakamura.

On another front, Norihito Nakayashiki will direct the stage play adaptation of Suikoden I, which stars Naoki Okamura, Takumi Wada, Ryōki Nagae, Yamada James Takeshi, and Ryūko Isogai. The play will be performed in Tokyo and Kyoto in December 2025.
A concert featuring music from Suikoden I, Suikoden II, and the new Star Leap will take place on May 5 at the Sumida Triphony Hall in Tokyo.
Additionally, Konami plans to hold regular livestreams to keep fans updated on the Suikoden franchise.
The highly anticipated Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars will be available on March 6, 2025, across various platforms, including Nintendo Switch and PlayStation. This release was pushed from 2023 to ensure the best possible experience for players.
The original game debuted on the PlayStation in 1995, followed by its sequel in 1998. The Suikoden series boasts five main titles and several spinoffs, captivating fans for decades.
