A New Home for Our Daily Bread Food Pantry in Marco Island
Our Daily Bread Food Pantry has a new address in Marco Island. This pantry plays a crucial role in supporting families in Southwest Florida by providing food assistance.
The pantry is moving to a spacious 5,000 square foot facility located at 1818 San Marco Road. For almost ten years, it has been helping thousands of households in Collier County, and this new place will serve as a permanent home.
Evelyn Rossetti-Ryan, the Executive Director, highlights how the need for food support has increased. She states, “Working families, students, and seniors need us. Our role in the community is becoming even more essential.” This year alone, the pantry is seeing more families register for assistance every week.
While the pantry is based in Marco Island, its impact stretches throughout all of Collier County. The new facility is set to open to the public on August 2.
According to recent statistics, food insecurity remains a significant concern nationwide. A report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture found that approximately 10.5% of households faced food insecurity at some point in 2021. This highlights the ongoing need for resources like Our Daily Bread.
The community response has been overwhelmingly positive. People are eager to support the pantry’s mission, reflecting a growing trend of community members coming together to address local needs.
