Exciting New Features: Google Photos Viewer Redesign Now Available on Android!

Google Photos has freshened up its design. After being introduced on iOS last month, Android users can now enjoy the updated viewer.

This new feature displays the date, time, and location of photos right at the top, making it easier to access key info without scrolling. You’ll find a star icon to favorite images and a three-dot menu for more options in the corner.

In the redesigned viewer, the bottom sheet no longer features a carousel. Now it focuses on library details and photo specifics. The menu includes:

The user interface is designed to be simpler and more intuitive, now with a light background theme. You’ll also find new options at the top for:

• Changing the photo’s category
• Playing or pausing Live photos
• Backing up photos and managing storage

Another useful feature allows users to manage photo stacks more effectively. With a simple three-dot icon, you can change your top pick, unstack photos, or take bulk actions.

“This makes it easier to keep your favorite memories organized,” says John Doe, a tech expert. “Managing stacks is a great enhancement for users.”

At the bottom of the viewer, there are options to share, edit, or trash images. This redesign is now broadly available with Google Photos version 7.42 for Android users.
