Following the recent firmware update for the Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo has pushed another update in December 2025, which might be the last of the year.
The update focuses on “general system stability improvements.” While it doesn’t mention compatibility updates for games, Nintendo usually rolls out those enhancements quietly. If you want to manually check for this update, go to System Settings from the HOME Menu, then select System Update.
The Switch 2 has been out for six months now. In that time, it’s received nine firmware updates, nearly all highlighting stability improvements. Nintendo has also worked on game compatibility and released upgrades for several titles.
Recently, Nintendo launched a new patch for its popular battle royale racer, F-Zero 99, and also added a new album to Nintendo Music.
