Exciting New Health Facility Coming to Clemson University: MUSC Sets the Stage for Enhanced Student Wellness

Clemson University is teaming up with the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) to create a new medical facility on its campus. This partnership aims to enhance health services for students and employees.

The board of trustees for MUSC has recently approved the planning phase of this project. The goal is to provide a modern medical facility that will offer a variety of health services, including clinical care, research labs focused on human performance, and advanced imaging technologies.

Dr. David J. Cole, the president of MUSC, expressed enthusiasm about this collaboration. He emphasized the importance of delivering exceptional healthcare to the Clemson community and highlighted opportunities for new health performance programs. MUSC Health has already been supporting Clemson students with its online virtual urgent care service.

The proposed facility will expand health services at Clemson University. Currently, the university’s student health center, the Redfern Health Center, was built in 1969 and lacks urgent care options. As the project progresses, details about the budget and specific services will become clearer.

Clemson University President Jim Clements noted that both institutions share a mission to improve lives across South Carolina.
