Exciting News: Airline Food Manufacturer Launches First US Facility in Covington!

A vacant building in Covington, Ky., is set to become a new airline food production plant thanks to a $37 million investment. MarfoFMA, an international company, is opening its first U.S. facility on Rolling Hills Drive to supply high-quality dishes for airlines.

Covington’s Mayor Ron Washington highlights the area’s potential for advanced manufacturing. He believes the region’s skilled workforce is a significant draw for foreign companies. This new venture is expected to create 78 jobs with salaries ranging from $33 to $35 per hour, which is great news for the community.

This announcement is part of a broader economic boom in Northern Kentucky. According to a recent report by the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, the region has experienced $53 million in economic growth and over 1,900 new jobs in the past year.

Washington also mentions that Thermo Fisher is moving into the area, adding nearly 250 jobs in life sciences. This indicates that Southern Covington is becoming a hub for this industry.

The growth extends beyond downtown Covington. The mayor expressed his vision for enhancing all parts of the city, not just the center. This new plant is a step forward in that direction, contributing to local shops and a vibrant economy.

With all these developments, Covington appears to be on an exciting upward trajectory. It’s an inspiring example of how strategic investments can lead to community growth and prosperity.
