AirPods Pro 3 are on the way, and there’s buzz about a feature I’m really looking forward to: enhanced active noise cancellation (ANC).
I’ve been using AirPods since they first came out with the iPhone 7 in 2017. But when the AirPods Pro launched, I was hooked. The standout feature for me was definitely the ANC. I had never tried noise-canceling headphones before, partly because I heard some users experienced discomfort or headaches. However, Apple’s approach seemed reassuring, so I took the plunge with the first AirPods Pro and haven’t regretted it.
ANC quickly became essential for me. It helps me focus, whether I’m working in a busy café or at the gym. When the second generation arrived, I upgraded mainly for the improved noise cancellation. And now, rumors suggest the third version will take it to the next level.
Leaker Kosutami hinted that the new model’s ANC will be “much better.” This fits with expectations since a new H3 chip is likely to enhance performance. When Apple introduced the H2 chip for the AirPods Pro 2, it claimed the chip allowed for twice the noise cancellation compared to the first generation. So, it’s reasonable to believe that the H3 chip will bring similar advancements.
Daily, I rely on ANC for productivity and outdoor activities. While the current feature works well, there are definitely moments when I wish it blocked even more noise. The promise of improved ANC with the upcoming AirPods Pro 3 is exciting, and I can’t wait to see how it performs.
Interestingly, a recent survey revealed that 70% of AirPods users prioritize noise cancellation when selecting headphones. This shows just how vital this feature has become for many of us.
AirPods Pro 3 could meet and exceed these expectations. What features are you hoping to see in the new model?
