Exciting News: Ball State University Foundation Reveals the 2026 ‘Top 100 Student Awards’ Honorees!

The Ball State University Foundation recently announced the winners of this year’s “Top 100 Student Awards.” This program, now in its fifth year, shines a light on outstanding undergraduate students who excel academically, lead on campus, and make a difference in the community.

“We’re thrilled to celebrate these exceptional students,” shared Lola Mauer, associate vice president of engagement and strategy at the Ball State University Foundation. “Their hard work shows how to lead with purpose while achieving great things in their studies and communities. We hope this recognition deepens their connection to Ball State and its alumni network long after they graduate.”

The Top 100 Award was established during the 2021-22 academic year to encourage students to remain connected with the university and foster a spirit of giving back. Students apply by submitting their accomplishments along with a recommendation from faculty or staff. A panel of Ball State alumni reviews these applications, ensuring that the most deserving students are honored.

Winners of the Top 100 Awards gain several perks. They receive media recognition, a chance to have professional headshots taken, and a special resume highlight. Students also get the opportunity to participate in events like One Ball State Day, which takes place on April 1. They can connect with alumni and will proudly wear gold cords at Commencement.

A special recognition event will take place on March 21 at Sursa Performance Hall, where the top students will be celebrated and additional honorees announced.

Recognizing academic achievement and community involvement can have lasting effects. Studies show that engaged students are more likely to succeed in their careers and maintain connections with their institutions. The emphasis on leadership and beneficence nurtures future alumni who will continue to contribute positively to society. Over the years, Ball State’s commitment to these values has built a network of supportive alumni who frequently share their successes online and inspire current students.

As the landscape of higher education shifts, initiatives like the Top 100 Student Awards highlight the importance of holistic education that values both academic and community contributions. This approach not only shapes well-rounded individuals but also strengthens society through their future efforts.
