Earlier this year, Rebellion’s shooter game, Sniper Elite 3, was removed from the PlayStation Store without explanation. Recently, an update revealed plans for its return.
According to the official Sniper Elite account on X (formerly Twitter), Sniper Elite 3 and its downloadable content (DLC) have made a comeback on the Xbox Store. This raised hopes among fans for its return on PlayStation. The team confirmed they are actively working on it but couldn’t provide a specific timeline.
In their post, the Sniper Elite account stated, “We are currently working on bringing the game back to the PlayStation Store and will update you in due course.”
While fans were excited about the PS4 return, questions arose about possible PS5 versions of earlier titles in the series, such as Sniper Elite V2, 3, and 4. Sadly, there are no current plans for those releases.
It’s worth noting that only the PS4 version of Sniper Elite 3 is in the works. The PS3 version and its DLC remain available for download.
Despite the wait, several Sniper Elite titles are still playable on the PS Store, including Sniper Elite: Resistance, which launched earlier this year.
In the gaming community, anticipation is building. Discussions on social media reflect a mix of excitement and curiosity about the franchise’s future. Will they expand to new platforms? Only time will tell.
