Beverly Hills High School has exciting news! Cleo Paul, a bright member of the Class of 2026, will be heading to Stanford University to study political science. Stanford is known for its research and commitment to public service, making it a great fit for Cleo.
Cleo’s journey started at Beverly Vista in kindergarten and has been marked by impressive academic success and active civic engagement. At BHHS, she tackled a challenging AP course load, including advanced French, all while excelling on the varsity track team. Her hard work and dedication truly set her apart.
Outside the classroom, Cleo has been an inspiring advocate for her community. She spent seven years on the Beverly Hills Teen Advisory Committee, making her voice heard on youth issues. Additionally, she was part of U.S. Representative Ted Lieu’s Youth Advisory Council, where she gained real-world experience in civic leadership. Cleo also founded the Youth Political Activism Club at her school, motivating fellow students to engage in public discussions and advocacy.
“Cleo is the epitome of leadership and community spirit,” said BHHS Principal Loan Srirkasa. “Her drive and integrity will surely make a difference at Stanford and beyond.”
It’s worth noting that according to a recent survey by the Pew Research Center, about 68% of students feel that civic engagement programs, like the ones Cleo participated in, are crucial for development and leadership. This highlights how initiatives similar to those at BHHS can shape future leaders.
Cleo’s journey serves as a reminder of the impact young people can have when they combine education with civic involvement. As she steps into this new chapter at Stanford, the future looks bright for her and for others inspired by her efforts. For more details on BHUSD, you can check out their official website here.
