Exciting News: Broncos Secure OLB Nik Bonitto with 4-Year Contract Extension!

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos have just locked in one of the NFL’s rising stars. Outside linebacker Nik Bonitto has signed a four-year contract extension with the team.

Drafted in 2022, Bonitto made waves last season with an impressive 13.5 sacks and two defensive touchdowns. His skills earned him Pro Bowl recognition and a spot on the second-team All-Pro list. He also recorded 16 tackles for loss, 24 quarterback hits, and two forced fumbles. Notably, he had a sack in six straight games, the longest streak in the NFL for 2024, and tied for the third-longest in Broncos history.

In an outstanding feat, Bonitto became only the second Bronco to score defensive touchdowns in consecutive games. He also stands out as the first NFL player since 2014 to achieve 13.5 sacks along with two touchdowns in a single season.

With 21.5 sacks over the past two seasons, Bonitto has proven he can change the game. He made pivotal plays, including a fumble recovery against the Bears that led to a game-tying touchdown. In another match against the Raiders, he forced a key fumble and followed it up with back-to-back touchdowns. One memorable moment was his 71-yard interception return against the Browns, showcasing his instincts on the field. Just weeks later, he snagged a lateral and raced 50 yards to seal a victory against the Colts.

Recently, Bonitto was ranked 38th on the NFL Top 100, a list determined by his fellow players, which emphasizes his growing reputation in the league.

Bonitto is the latest in a series of strategic signings by the Broncos, joining defensive lineman Zach Allen and wide receiver Courtland Sutton in securing long-term deals. This commitment reflects the team’s focus on building a solid roster around young talent.

As the NFL continues to evolve, players like Bonitto show how impactful young athletes can be. Their contributions are not just about stats; they shape the game’s excitement and change outcomes on the field.
