Naya Cardoza Signs Professional Contract with Halifax Tides FC
Naya Cardoza, a standout defender from Brown University, has signed her first professional soccer contract with Halifax Tides FC. She expressed gratitude for her time at Brown, stating, “This place will always feel like home. I’m thrilled to join Halifax and aim to inspire young girls in sports.”
Cardoza had an impressive senior season. She earned multiple accolades, including First Team All-Ivy League and All-East Region honors. Throughout her college career, she made 65 appearances for the Bears and has played for Jamaica’s senior national team, the Reggae Girlz.
Her coach, Kia McNeill, praised her talent and leadership, saying, “Naya has the skills and mindset for the next level. Her impact was clear, and Halifax is lucky to have her.”
This move reflects a growing trend in professional women’s soccer. According to a recent survey by the Women’s Sports Foundation, 93% of young girls who engage in sports have higher confidence levels. As more players like Cardoza transition to professional leagues, they continue to pave the way for future generations.
With her skills on the field and passion for empowering others, Naya Cardoza is set to make a mark—not just as a player, but as a role model in her community. Halifax Tides FC and its fans eagerly await her debut.
