Caroline Stanton is making a splash by joining the Florida Gators softball team this semester. She signed her athletics aid agreement on National Signing Day in November as the top recruit for this signing class, according to Softball America.
Stanton’s journey is impressive. After leading Buford High School to its third 6A State Championship in November, she graduated just a month later. “Graduating early was a great opportunity,” she shared. By redshirting this spring, she can focus on training and learning from the coaching staff. Head coach Tim Walton expressed his excitement, noting how valuable her early enrollment will be for her development and the team.
But that’s not all. Stanton recently shone on the international stage, winning a gold medal with Team USA at the 2025 World Baseball Softball Confederation U-18 World Cup Finals it was held in Oklahoma City. In those games, she pitched an impressive 17 innings, recording 10 strikeouts and allowing just two earned runs, which gave her a remarkable 0.82 ERA. Her performance earned her the Best Defensive Player award.
In addition to her international success, Stanton holds the single-game strikeout record for Buford, with an impressive 20 strikeouts in one game. She will wear number 1 for the Gators, bringing her talent and experience to Gainesville.
The Gators will kick off their 2026 season against Illinois State on February 6 at the USF-Rawlings Invitational in Tampa.
Caroline’s dedication and achievements show great promise for her future as a Gator, and fans are eagerly waiting to see how she’ll make her mark at the collegiate level.
