Encompass Health has exciting plans for a new rehabilitation hospital in St. George, Utah. This facility will feature 50 beds and focus on helping patients recover from serious health challenges.
The hospital will provide specialized care for various conditions, including brain and spinal injuries, strokes, amputations, and complex orthopedic issues. Patients can expect round-the-clock nursing and access to diverse therapies, such as occupational and speech therapy. These services aim to help individuals regain their functional abilities.
The facility will include private rooms, a therapy gym with advanced rehabilitation technologies, and an activities suite to support daily living skills. It will also house essential services like an on-site dialysis center, pharmacy, a therapy courtyard, and a dining area.
Kim Steward, president of Encompass Health West, expresses enthusiasm for this new location. “We are excited to expand our presence in Utah to serve patients in St. George and nearby areas,” she stated, emphasizing the importance of offering high-quality and compassionate care.
Set to open in 2027, this hospital will be the second Encompass Health facility in Utah, adding to the company’s extensive network of 167 hospitals across 38 states and Puerto Rico.
Interestingly, Encompass Health’s expansion comes on the heels of their recent opening of the 40-bed Rehabilitation Hospital of Athens in Georgia, built in partnership with Piedmont Healthcare. This growth marks a significant commitment to enhancing rehabilitation services across the U.S.
According to recent data from the American Hospital Association, the demand for rehabilitation services has been steadily increasing. As of 2023, around 2.3 million patients receive inpatient rehabilitation each year, highlighting the need for more facilities like this one.
With such developments, Encompass Health aims to make a meaningful impact on patient recovery in the St. George community.
