The Erie County Health Department and Community Health Center recently welcomed Hannah Schoen, a family nurse practitioner. This local addition enhances their team focused on providing quality healthcare.
Schoen accepts patients of all ages and specializes in women’s health and prenatal care. She’s familiar with the community, having completed her clinical rotations at the center and caring for many in the area.
Her expertise will particularly benefit residents in Erie, Huron, and Ottawa counties. In addition to women’s health services, she offers a full range of family practice needs, including routine check-ups and care for chronic conditions.
“I am eager to provide high-quality care to all individuals in our community,” Schoen shared. “Born and raised in Sandusky, I’m honored to serve my neighbors, especially in areas like prenatal care and women’s wellness.”
Schoen’s strong background in nursing includes a degree from Bowling Green State University and a master’s from the University of Cincinnati. With a growing awareness of women’s health, her addition comes at a time when access to specialized care is more important than ever.
A recent survey by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists shows that many women struggle to find timely care, making Schoen’s role even more vital. Women’s health services are often underfunded and underappreciated, highlighting the need for practitioners like her.
By filling this gap in the community, Schoen not only strengthens healthcare access but also promotes awareness around essential services that support women’s health needs.
