Exciting News: First Vande Bharat Maintenance Depot Takes Shape in Jodhpur, Rajasthan!

In a significant move for Indian Railways, a dedicated maintenance depot for Vande Bharat Express trains is being set up in Bhagat Ki Kothi, Jodhpur. This depot is a first for the country, with plans for four more across India.

Anurag Tripathi, the Divisional Railway Manager, shared that this facility will be crucial for maintaining Vande Bharat trains nationwide. Spanning 600 meters, it will have three pit lines, allowing the servicing of up to three trains simultaneously. The depot is expected to be ready by the end of 2025.

There’s also a proposal for an adjacent workshop and training center, with a budget of ₹200 crores. Recruitment will follow standard Railway Recruitment Board processes, ensuring well-trained personnel for the facility.

The Vande Bharat Express itself is a turning point for Indian Railways. Launched on February 15, 2019, it can reach speeds of 160 km/h. This initiative reflects India’s commitment to modern and sustainable transport options.

Moreover, recent data on passenger satisfaction shows a growing appreciation for Vande Bharat services, pointing to a cultural shift in how people view train travel. As these trains become more popular, maintaining them effectively will be key to addressing passenger expectations and ensuring safety.

With technological advancements and infrastructure upgrades, this depot represents not just better maintenance but a leap toward a more efficient railway network, enhancing the future of travel in India.
