Exciting News for Bihar: Amrit Bharat Express and Namo Bharat Rapid Rail Services Set to Transform Travel!

New Delhi, Apr 21: Bihar is gearing up to become a key player in India’s railway transformation. The state is getting two new trains: the Amrit Bharat Express and the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail. Together with the Vande Bharat Express, these trains create a modern network that aims to enhance travel across the country, as highlighted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Namo Bharat Rapid Rail will soon run between Jaynagar and Patna, revolutionizing short-distance travel. This train will be the second of its kind in India, following the Ahmedabad–Bhuj route. What sets this train apart is its 16 coaches, allowing it to carry over 2,000 passengers—up from 12 in the first service. Built under the "Make in India" initiative, this train includes cutting-edge features such as Kavach safety technology, CCTV surveillance, and comfort-focused design elements like charging ports and automatic doors.

On the other hand, the Amrit Bharat Express will link Saharsa and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Mumbai, marking the third service of its type, following routes from Darbhanga and Malda. While it may not have air conditioning, it still offers modern amenities like foldable snack tables and fire detection systems. Designed for speeds of up to 130 km/h, it employs push-pull technology, allowing it to change directions without needing to turn around.

Bihar’s advancements don’t stop there. New railway lines, including Supaul–Pipra, Khagaria–Alauli, and Hasanpur–Bithan, will also start passenger services. This means improved connectivity for North Bihar and the Mithila region, greatly enhancing travel options and regional development.

A recent report by the Indian Ministry of Railways highlighted how modern railway services can increase economic activity and boost tourism. Data shows that train services can decrease travel time significantly, providing a faster, more efficient commuting option for millions.
