Fallout’s second season just wrapped up, and it’s stirred up quite a buzz. Fans were hoping for a surprise game drop to celebrate the finale. Many speculated that a remaster of Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas was on the horizon, fueled by a countdown that got everyone excited. But instead of a big reveal, players got an unlockable version of House’s penthouse from New Vegas.
Now, there’s still some good news. A new Fallout version is on the way, set to be unveiled at the upcoming Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase. Leaker billbil-kun has insider info that Nintendo Switch 2 users will soon be able to pre-order physical copies of Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition. Pre-orders are expected to open soon after the event.
The release is slated for April 28 and will retail for €59.99 / $59.99, although UK pricing isn’t out yet. However, there’s some concern that these copies might just be ‘codes in a box’, which is disappointing for fans eager for a real physical game.
Bethesda seems to have a few surprises lined up. The showcase is also set to announce physical copies of Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, anticipated to release on May 12 and priced at €69.99 / $69.99. It’s also rumored that a physical edition of Skyrim: Anniversary Edition is coming on the same April 28 date, likely following the ‘code in a box’ trend as well.
While it’s always exciting to get new content, many fans are feeling underwhelmed, especially after the anticipation built up around Season 2’s conclusion. Just like in the past, when fans expected more significant changes with updates, the reality often doesn’t match expectations.
As the reveal approaches, it will be interesting to see how fans react. Will the upcoming announcements meet their hopes, or is disappointment the only thing on the horizon? Stay tuned to see what unfolds!
