George Mason Women’s Basketball Promotes Demetria Frank

George Mason University’s women’s basketball team has exciting news: Demetria Frank has been promoted to Associate Head Coach.

Head Coach Vanessa Blair-Lewis expressed her pride in Frank’s journey. “Seeing Demetria grow into a leader is one of my greatest joys as a coach. Her loyalty, hard work, and dedication impact our program daily,” she shared.

Frank, originally from Miami, Florida, has a strong background in basketball. She played for Blair-Lewis at Bethune-Cookman University from 2007 to 2012 and holds impressive records. Frank is the program’s second all-time leading scorer with 1,567 points, and she also holds records for career free throws and steals. She ranks 25th on the NCAA Division I all-time list for steals, showcasing her defensive skills.

In 2021, Frank joined Blair-Lewis at George Mason. Since then, she has played a key role in transforming the team into a championship contender. Her leadership was recognized when she was selected for the inaugural Next Up Coaches Conference in 2024. The conference aims to support young minority coaches in advancing their careers, highlighting the need for diversity and inclusion in sports.
