Exciting News: Galante Joins St. Lawrence University as New Assistant Volleyball Coach!

CANTON — St. Lawrence University’s Volleyball team has welcomed Sara Galante as their new Assistant Coach, effective immediately. She joins the Scarlet and Brown just in time for the season opener in Plattsburgh.

Galante, a 2024 graduate of Clarkson University, had a standout career as an outside hitter for the Golden Knights. In her senior year, she impressed everyone by starting all 26 matches and playing in 93 sets. Her performance earned her All-Liberty League First-Team honors, ranking third in kills per set and second in points per set across the conference.

During her final season, she was named Liberty League Performer of the Week and made the Honor Roll twice. Her contributions helped her team reach the Liberty League semifinals.

After graduation, Galante worked as a procurement buyer for Siemens Energy. She also served as a teaching assistant at OCM BOCES in Liverpool, NY, where she supported special education classes. Returning to the North Country, her diverse experiences will certainly benefit the St. Lawrence program.

Galante’s addition comes at a time when many college sports teams are looking for new strategies to enhance performance. Experts suggest that having former players in coaching roles can greatly impact team dynamics and success. As the nature of the game evolves, bringing fresh perspectives from recent players can keep programs competitive.

With Galante’s impressive background and local ties, the St. Lawrence Volleyball team looks forward to a promising season ahead.
