Exciting News: Italy Welcomes the 2025 WBSC U-15 Women’s Softball World Cup in Bollate and Caronno Pertusella – Dates Announced!

The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) has announced that Italy will host the WBSC U-15 Women’s Softball World Cup in 2025. This exciting event will take place from June 27 to July 5 in Bollate and Caronno Pertusella, located in the beautiful Lombardia region.

Bollate is a vibrant city with around 36,000 residents, situated just north of Milan. It’s home to Bollate 1969, the reigning champions of the Italian Softball League. This club boasts a remarkable record of 14 league titles and is well-known for its strong player development program. They have a fantastic facility with four softball fields, including two that meet international standards.

Caronno Pertusella, a smaller town with about 18,000 residents, lies just northwest of Bollate. The local team, Rhevendors Caronno, recently finished fifth in the 2024 Italian Softball League season. They play at the Giuseppe Nespoli Stadium, which adds to the competitive spirit of the region.

The first WBSC U-15 Women’s Softball World Cup took place in Japan in 2023, where the USA claimed the title after defeating Puerto Rico in the final.

So far, Italy and the Czech Republic have secured their spots in the 2025 tournament by finishing at the top of the European Championship in 2024. Spain snagged a Wild Card, allowing them to compete as well. Additionally, Australia and American Samoa earned their places through WBSC Oceania.

In March, the Americas will hold a qualifying event in Acapulco, Mexico, aiming to fill four more spots for the tournament. Meanwhile, two additional teams will qualify from Asia in Puli, Taiwan, at the end of March. One final place will go to a team from Africa, completing the lineup for this international event.
