Jazeera Airways has achieved an important milestone by relaunching flights to six Indian cities from Kuwait through Qaisumah Airport in Saudi Arabia. This initiative, called _Project Vande Bharat_, marks the first direct air travel connection between Kuwait and India following recent airspace restrictions and the temporary shutdown of Kuwait International Airport.
India’s Ambassador to Kuwait, HE Mrs. Paramita Tripathi, praised Jazeera Airways for its swift response to the needs of the Indian community. She mentioned the challenges faced by many who needed to travel due to the airspace closure since February 28, 2026. In her words, the airline’s prompt action demonstrates a commendable commitment to the people they serve.
The Indian Business and Professionals Council (IBPC) in Kuwait echoed these sentiments, appreciating the airline’s efforts to maintain crucial ties between the two nations during a tough time. This commitment shows that Jazeera Airways cares deeply about its passengers and the community.
Barathan Pasupathi, the CEO of Jazeera Airways, highlighted the strong demand for reconnecting families. He noted that many individuals from the large Indian community in Kuwait were eager to reunite with loved ones. He expressed gratitude to the Indian Embassy for its support in making this relaunch possible.
Passengers will travel overland from Kuwait to Qaisumah on designated buses before boarding their flights to India. This arrangement ensures a smooth transition for travelers as they reconnect with their destinations.
Jazeera Airways is also expanding its network with flights to various destinations, including Alexandria, Cairo, and Amman, among others. This growth is vital for maintaining essential travel links, especially as the world gradually returns to normalcy after disruptions.
Recent data shows that the airline industry is recovering, with a surge in air travel demand. According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), global passenger numbers are expected to reach pre-pandemic levels by 2024. In light of these trends, Jazeera Airways’ proactive approach to expanding its services showcases its commitment to meeting traveler needs during this transformative time.
For travelers wishing to explore options to Egypt, India, Jordan, Sri Lanka, Turkey, or the UAE, it’s easy to check flight availability through the official website or app of Jazeera Airways.
