University of Missouri President Mun Choi has announced that Angela King Taylor is the new vice chancellor for student affairs, effective immediately. She has been serving as the interim in this position since June 2023.
“Vice Chancellor King Taylor is a fantastic advocate for student success,” President Choi said. “With her strong leadership, we will enhance our Mizzou community and prepare future leaders for Missouri and beyond.”
In her new role, King Taylor will focus on supporting students. During her time as interim vice chancellor, she improved the atmosphere within the Division of Student Affairs, making students feel more included and engaged. She introduced initiatives like the Healthy Community Initiative and the TIGERS learning framework, which positively impacted student health, co-curricular learning, and the overall student experience at Mizzou.
King Taylor joined the University of Missouri in September 2021 as the associate dean of students, concentrating on student engagement. She has over 20 years of experience in leading student and faculty affairs at schools like Syracuse University, Loyola University Chicago, and the University of Kansas.
“I’m honored to take on the role of vice chancellor for student affairs,” King Taylor said. “Our students are the focus of everything we do. I look forward to working with our team to improve their experience, encourage inclusivity, and ensure their success. Together, we will build on our progress to make Mizzou a place where all students can thrive.”
