Mitote Food Park is planning a move to a new spot at 100 Sebastopol Road, just a short distance from its current location. Owner Octavio Diaz is excited about this change. The new space spans 12,000 square feet indoors and includes a large outdoor area, perfect for the bustling community it serves.

The new site is on a 1.7-acre parcel that used to house a warehouse for Roseland University Prep. It also features over 40 parking spaces, making it more accessible for food lovers. Diaz has already signed a lease and is now waiting for city approval on a conditional use permit. This permit will allow for an outdoor seating area, an indoor bar, a commissary kitchen, and designated overnight parking for food trucks.
Diaz hopes to wrap up operations at the current location by the end of March and aiming to reopen at the new site by early May. This transition comes at a challenging time, as construction progresses on the nearby Tierra de Rosas project, which will include new residential and commercial spaces. The construction has made access to the existing food park tricky, but Diaz remains optimistic.
Michelle Whitman, Executive Director of the Sonoma County Community Development Commission, has been in touch with Diaz to help ensure the food trucks can stay open during the transition. Mitote, which opened in 2022, has become a popular destination for its authentic Mexican cuisine and vibrant cultural events. Dishes from regions like Oaxaca, Jalisco, and Mexico City draw crowds from all around. Diaz expresses gratitude for local support that allows Mitote to remain a part of the Roseland community.
In short, Mitote is gearing up for an exciting new chapter in a location that promises to enhance the dining experience for everyone.
