Nintendo has just revealed that Chibi-Robo will make its way to the Switch 2’s GameCube library on August 21, 2025. This classic game first launched on the GameCube back in 2005 and was developed by Skip.
So, what’s Chibi-Robo all about? Picture a tiny robot, about four inches tall, arriving at the Sanderson household. His mission? To spread joy and help the family enjoy life. Whether he’s tidying up or finding lost items, Chibi-Robo is always on the move. The goal is to collect Happy Points and Moolah (money) to climb the Chibi-Rankings. If he reaches the top, he might just transform into Super Chibi-Robo! But there’s a twist—he’s up against quirky challenges like a daughter who speaks frog and animated toys.
Playing Chibi-Robo on the Switch 2 requires an active subscription to the Switch Online + Expansion Pack.
Other GameCube titles coming to the Switch Online service include fan favorites like Luigi’s Mansion, Super Mario Sunshine, and Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. This update follows the recent release of Super Mario Strikers in July.
The resurgence of these nostalgic titles highlights how retro gaming continues to captivate new audiences. According to a recent survey by the Entertainment Software Association, around 70% of gamers express interest in classic games, showcasing the timeless appeal of these stories and characters.
