Exciting News: Northwood University BPA Students Earn Nationals Spot in Nashville!

All Northwood University students who took part in the February 7 Business Professionals of America (BPA) State Leadership Conference at Davenport University are headed to the national competition in Nashville, Tennessee, this spring.

Facing off against peers from colleges throughout Michigan, Northwood’s BPA Chapter earned an impressive 11 first-place finishes, along with four runner-up awards and six other Top 5 finishes.

BPA co-advisor Jennifer Freeland expressed her pride in the students’ hard work. “Their success showcases their professionalism and readiness to apply what they’ve learned in class to real-world challenges,” she said. “It’s amazing that every student has qualified for nationals!”

The BPA National Leadership Conference, happening May 6-10, will gather standout students from across the nation, offering them further competition, leadership training, and networking opportunities.

Here’s a list of Northwood students who will be competing nationally:

  • Corbin Landrey, League City, Texas

  • John Walter, Bay City, Michigan
  • Aidan Leslie, New Baltimore, Michigan

In 2022, BPA competitions included over 500,000 participants across the U.S., showcasing the organization’s growing impact. According to a recent survey by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, 76% of employers prefer graduates with practical experience, making involvement in programs like BPA critical for future careers.
