Ruben Fleischer is back in action as the director of the new Now You See Me film, with a fourth installment on the way! This exciting news was revealed during CinemaCon by Adam Fogelson, the chair of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group. The upcoming third flick, titled Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, hits theaters on November 14.
The Now You See Me series has captivated audiences worldwide, raking in an impressive $687 million across its films. The first two movies featured talented actors like Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, and Morgan Freeman. In the latest film, newer stars like Justice Smith, Ariana Greenblatt, and Dominic Sessa join the ensemble, showing a fresh side of the magic and illusionist world.
Bobby Cohen, who has been part of the franchise since the beginning, will produce the new movie alongside Alex Kurtzman. Meredith Wieck will manage the project for Lionsgate.
Fogelson praised Fleischer, saying he has a unique knack for delivering the surprising twists fans love. “Ruben has delivered all of the twists and turns and sleight-of-hand that audiences expect,” he noted, expressing excitement about what audiences will see in the upcoming film.
Fleischer also shared his enthusiasm, describing the experience of directing Now You See Me: Now You Don’t as one of the most enjoyable of his career. Working with a fantastic cast and blending magical heist elements was a dream come true for him.
Jesse Eisenberg, returning to his role, remarked, “It’s very good to be back.” He teased the film, hinting at a thrilling storyline where the two generations of magicians face off against corrupt money launderers, complete with disguises and clever tricks. Harrelson’s character might need to regain his touch, as Greenblatt mentioned, “It’s eight magicians against a worldwide criminal network.”
Fleischer isn’t shy of success. His recent film, Uncharted, earned over $400 million globally, while Venom grossed more than $850 million.
