Nvidia has completed the rollout of its RTX 5080 for the GeForce Now cloud gaming service and is set to introduce some exciting new features. In the upcoming months, subscribers can look forward to native GeForce Now apps for Linux and Amazon’s Fire TV devices, along with support for flight controls.
The Linux app has been highly anticipated. Until now, users have relied on unofficial methods to access GeForce Now. A beta version will soon be available for Ubuntu 24.04 and newer. Nvidia aims to support more Linux distributions later on. “The Linux app starts with Ubuntu 24.04 due to its stable graphics drivers and system libraries,” explains Michael McSorley from Nvidia.
For those who enjoy gaming on the big screen, Nvidia is also bringing the GeForce Now app to Amazon Fire TV devices. It will initially support the Fire TV Stick 4K Plus and 4K Max, allowing gamers to stream PC games directly to their TVs using a controller.
If you’re a fan of Microsoft Flight Simulator, there’s good news too. The service will now support flight controls from companies like Thrustmaster and Logitech. This means you can use your joystick or yoke with a less powerful laptop and play Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, experiencing smooth controls.
Additionally, Nvidia is introducing automatic sign-in for Battle.net accounts on GeForce Now, with support for Gaijin.net accounts coming soon. However, users in India will have to wait a bit longer. The planned launch in India has been delayed to “sometime in Q1, 2026,” according to McSorley.
