Exciting News: Pet Wants to Launch a Healthy Pet Food and Grooming Store in Trophy Club This April!

For many pet owners, pets are family. Taking care of their health is essential, and that’s the mission behind Pet Wants Roanoke.

Owner Cora Baker believes in the idea that "food is medicine." She feels many commercial pet foods lack this important element. "We aim to fill that gap," she says.

To better serve local pet owners, Pet Wants Roanoke will open a new brick-and-mortar store on April 1, 2023, at 2550 Bobcat Blvd., Ste. 101 in Trophy Club. This store will be a place for pet owners to not only purchase quality food but also gain expert advice on their pets’ nutrition. Cora adds, "We will also support local businesses by offering Texas-made products and partnering with local pet vendors."

The Bakers’ passion for pet health stems from a personal experience. "When we got a new puppy last year, we noticed health issues that traced back to his food," Charlie Baker shared. This led them to search for better options, eventually becoming a part of the Pet Wants family. They started by selling pet food from home and at local markets, where they quickly built a loyal customer base.

What sets Pet Wants apart is their commitment to freshness. Their food is slow-cooked in small batches without fillers like corn or soy. "Even high-quality commercial pet foods can’t match our freshness," Charlie explained. They provide single-protein formulas, ensuring pets get quality protein without additives. This allows pet owners to switch proteins without upsetting their pets’ stomachs.

Pet Wants offers a variety of foods tailored to dogs and cats, with both grain-free and grain-inclusive options. Customers can buy the food by the pound, which is perfect for those who want to test different flavors or purchase in bulk.

Beyond food, Pet Wants Roanoke also values overall pet wellness through grooming services. They will offer self-washing stations for pet owners to clean their furry friends in a cozy environment. Their cage-free approach aims to keep pets calm and stress-free during grooming. They use natural and safe products, ensuring the health of both pets and the planet.

In addition to grooming, the store will carry a range of natural wellness products, including calming balms and digestive aids. These products help keep pets healthy and happy.

Looking ahead, the Bakers plan to grow even more. They hope to open five stores in North Fort Worth over the next five years. Customer feedback is vital and will help shape their services and product selection.

Recent trends show a growing interest in fresh and healthy pet foods. According to the American Pet Products Association, many pet owners are opting for higher-quality food options, with 47% of surveyed pet owners saying they would pay more for better nutrition.
