Pokémon fans, get excited! Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen are making their way to the Switch eShop on February 27. But there’s a twist—Japan will release a Special Edition with some neat extras.
This special package includes reproductions of the original Game Boy Advance cases and a set of stylish glass spheres featuring Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. When placed in stands, they light up in bright colors. How cool is that?
You can snag this special edition from the Japanese Pokémon Center online store starting February 28. Each version costs 19,800 yen, or about $127. It’s definitely a collector’s item!
As of now, this version is exclusive to Japan, and there’s no word yet on a Western release. Will it be available later? We can only hope!
Interestingly, Pokémon nostalgia is trending on social media. Fans are sharing their memories of the original games and expressing excitement over this new release. There’s a buzz about how these classics have been revived for new gamers while still appealing to long-time fans.
In a recent survey, 68% of gamers stated they are more likely to purchase nostalgic games, suggesting that the love for retro titles remains strong. This trend is likely influencing Pokémon’s decision to bring back these classics.
So, how do you feel about this Special Edition? Will you be adding it to your collection? Let us know your thoughts!
