Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that Hideaki Nishino will become the new president and CEO starting April 1, 2025. Previously, he led the Platform Business Group and worked alongside Hermen Hulst, CEO of the Studio Business Group, who will continue in his role and report to Nishino.
In a press release, Nishino expressed his excitement for this position. He stated, “It’s an honor to lead Sony Interactive Entertainment. Our focus on technology and creativity will help us create experiences for everyone. We will expand the PlayStation community and innovate in technology.” He also thanked Hulst for his leadership and celebrated the support from the PlayStation community.
Along with the leadership changes, Sony Group Corporation has also named Hiroki Totoki as the new president and CEO. He will take over from Kenichiro Yoshida, who will become the chairman. Moreover, Lin Tao, previously senior vice president of finance at Sony Interactive Entertainment, will step into the role of chief financial officer at Sony Group Corporation. The announcement of her successor will be made later.
Totoki shared his confidence in Nishino and the leadership team, stating, “I am excited for what lies ahead for Sony Interactive Entertainment.” He emphasized the company’s long history of providing exceptional entertainment and expressed optimism about its future direction.
