Samsung has started rolling out the stable One UI 8.0 update for the Galaxy S23 series, following its recent release for the Galaxy S24 and S25 models. Currently, the update is available in South Korea, with other countries likely to receive it soon.
The update for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra is now available. If you’re in South Korea, you can check for the update by going to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install. The download size varies; it’s about 450MB for beta testers and around 3GB for others.
One UI 8.0 is based on Android 16 and includes several exciting features. It has a more secure Secure Folder, an upgraded DeX experience, and a redesigned Samsung Internet browser. Quick Share also sees improvements, making file transfers smoother.
Additionally, the update enhances tools like Alarms, Calendar, and Reminders. There’s better management for Modes and Routines, and the Camera app now has new gestures for quick access. Bluetooth Aurcast audio support has been improved, and the Weather app features a fresh design with enhanced graphics.
According to recent surveys, many users appreciate these updates, especially the improved security features. Expert opinions suggest that these changes keep Samsung competitive in the smartphone market, especially as users increasingly prioritize security and efficiency.
While the release is underway, not every country will receive the update on the same day. So, if you’re waiting, keep an eye on your settings for the One UI 8.0 update.
