Under Head Coach Missy Farr-Kaye, the team has advanced to seven championships in the past eight years. ASU is one of only five schools to participate in the NCAA Championships at least 22 times since 2000, alongside USC, Duke, Stanford, and UCLA.

In the Gold Canyon Regional, the Sun Devils stayed in the Top-5 throughout the competition, showing consistency and teamwork. Along with Arizona State, teams like Oregon and Oklahoma State also advanced to the NCAA Championships, which will be held from May 16-21 at Omni La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, California.

Coach Farr-Kaye expressed how significant it is to reach this level. “Regionals are tough, and it’s stressful,” she said. “I’m really proud of our team.”

Highlighting the team’s performance, redshirt sophomore Patience Rhodes stood out with a score of -9, finishing second overall. Freshman Isla McDonald-O’Brien made an impressive NCAA postseason debut, tying for third place. Both players are eager to continue shining on the national stage.

Rhodes reflected, “We learned a lot from playing last year. I’m confident about the competition we’ll face at nationals.”

Interestingly, the postseason also saw some surprises. Seven of the top 30 ranked teams did not make it to the NCAA Championships, including well-known programs like North Carolina and Auburn. This underscores the unpredictable nature of competitive sports.

When examining the data, ASU’s consistency is noteworthy. They’ve finished second at regional tournaments three times in the last five years, revealing a strong ability to perform under pressure.

As they prepare for the upcoming championships, fans and players alike are excited to see if the Sun Devils can capture another title. The team hopes to add a ninth national championship to their impressive record.

In summary, the Sun Devil women’s golf program continues to thrive, aiming for greatness once again at the NCAA Championships. Their strong performances this season, coupled with invaluable experience, make them a formidable contender. You can catch the full tournament coverage on NBC Sports.

Stay tuned as the Sun Devils take on the best in the nation—this is a team you won’t want to miss!
