Exciting News: Tellurian Behavioral Health Launches New Facility in Madison!

Tellurian Behavioral Health is set to open a new facility in Madison called Jake’s Place. This center, named after Darryll E. Jacobson, the father of Fairway Mortgage CEO Steve Jacobson, will offer crucial support for those struggling with behavioral health and addiction issues.

CEO Kevin Florek expressed enthusiasm about the opening, highlighting the center’s potential to make a difference in people’s lives. Steve Jacobson praised the initiative, stating that his father would have been proud of the impact it aims to have.

The facility will also feature street outreach and case management services. Kalvin Barrett, the Dane County Sheriff and a board member at Tellurian, noted that this center is vital for the community. “This is exciting news for Dane County,” he said. “It will help reduce the burden on our jail and meet a desperate need.”

This kind of support is essential, especially considering recent reports showing that nearly 20% of adults in the U.S. experience mental health issues each year. Facilities like Jake’s Place play a critical role in addressing these challenges at a local level.

Opening in late fall, Jake’s Place has already garnered attention, with notable figures like former Packers players Brett Favre and Don Majkowski planning to attend the opening ceremony. Majkowski shared his personal connection to these programs, emphasizing their importance in the community.

Jake’s Place represents a growing recognition of the need for accessible mental health resources. Such facilities are crucial for offering support and fostering recovery in communities across Wisconsin and beyond.
