HBO’s “The White Lotus” is set to head to France for its fourth season, although an official confirmation is still pending. According to reports from Variety, the production team has been scouring luxurious spots in Paris and the French Riviera.

Like Season 3, which was filmed in Thailand, the next season will primarily take place in the South of France, with some scenes in Paris. Currently, no specific hotels have been chosen, and filming won’t begin until next year.

This season marks a shift away from Four Seasons hotels, which were featured in previous seasons set in Hawaii, Sicily, and Thailand. HBO has not renewed its partnership with the Four Seasons chain.

Among the Parisian hotels under consideration is the famous Le Lutetia, a five-star establishment on the Left Bank that has housed many famous guests, including Charlie Chaplin and Pablo Picasso. Another contender is the Ritz Paris, which has been a hot spot for celebrities like Coco Chanel and F. Scott Fitzgerald since it opened in 1898.

Mike White, the creator, hinted at the new season in a recent HBO clip, suggesting a departure from the familiar coastal settings. “For the fourth season, I want to get a little bit out of the crashing waves of rocks vernacular,” he teased. With rocky beaches along the French Riviera, places like Nice and Monaco could be part of the backdrop.

As always, the series will mix American characters with local talent. While much of the cast will change, some fan favorites, like Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge) and Greg (Jon Gries), may return. It would be fun to see Charlotte Le Bon, who played Chloé, back in the mix.

Interestingly, recent statistics show that interest in luxury travel is on the rise, with a 2023 survey revealing that 77% of travelers are willing to pay more for unique experiences and high-end accommodations. This trend aligns perfectly with the show’s focus on wealth and opulence, ensuring that viewers remain captivated by the extravagant lifestyles of the characters.
