Exciting News: Tulane Bowling Ranks 19th in 2025-26 NTCA Preseason Poll!

The Tulane University bowling team is kicking off its season with a notable ranking. They are placed at No. 19 in the preseason National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) Poll, earning 498 points. Last season, they finished at No. 20 with a record of 60 wins and 45 losses, achieving a 57.1% winning percentage.

Tulane was one of 12 teams from Conference USA that made it into the top 25. Jacksonville State tops the list, coming off a strong previous season where they were national runners-up. The first six teams in the preseason poll are all from Conference USA, showcasing the depth of talent in the league. Notably, the Green Wave ranks higher than three other conference teams—Wright State at 20 and Valparaiso at 21.

The bowling team joined Conference USA in summer 2023 along with eight other schools. This move marks a significant step for the Green Wave, further institutionalizing their competitive spirit.

Paige Matiasek stood out last season, leading the team with 410 strikes. Emma Fetterman and Mia Stolakis followed closely with 405 and 401 strikes, respectively. The 2025-26 roster maintains a strong core with these returners and welcomes new players like Valeria Colon, Sarah Rubi, and Lyllian Smith. Head coach Hayley Veitch enters her 14th season, bringing her vast experience to the team.

Bowling is growing in popularity across the U.S., with participation rates increasing. According to the Bowling Proprietors’ Association of America (BPAA), bowling attracts millions of players each year. Expert opinions suggest that this sport promotes physical fitness and social connection, offering a great way to bond with friends and family.

For fans eager to follow the Green Wave’s journey, updates can be found on their official social media channels. This season promises excitement, as the team looks to build on last year’s success amid a competitive landscape.

Tulane’s efforts on the lanes reflect a wider culture of resilience and community spirit in New Orleans, a city known for its rich history and vibrant traditions.
