Exciting News: Twitch Introduces Vertical Livestreams for a Fresh Viewing Experience!

Twitch is making big waves with some exciting updates announced at TwitchCon Europe. One of the highlights is the new vertical livestream feature. This change means creators can stream in a format that’s easier to watch on your phone. Soon, you won’t have to choose between vertical or horizontal streams; both will be available. Twitch plans to test this with a few channels this summer before rolling it out more widely.

Another fantastic update is the open beta for “2k streaming,” allowing creators to stream in 1440p. This upgrade offers richer detail and clarity, making it perfect for gamers, artists, or anyone chatting live. Previously, this feature was limited to a smaller group, but now all Twitch partners and affiliates can join in.

Twitch is also introducing a rewind feature. This will let you go back and catch what you missed during a live stream, which is great for those moments when something exciting happens while you’re multitasking.

In a letter earlier this year, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy hinted at these features and several others set for 2025.
