CHICAGO – The Chicago White Sox may not be a winning team this season, but they’re sure hitting it out of the park when it comes to food.

The team kicks off their home season on March 27 against the Los Angeles Angels. Fans can look forward to a delightful lineup of new food and drink options for 2025.

This year, there will be over two dozen fresh choices to enjoy at the ballpark, which is often celebrated as one of the best culinary venues in sports. Jennifer Kribs, the operations manager at Delaware North, one of the vendors, suggests that visiting the ballpark is like taking a tasty tour of Chicago’s food scene.

Among the exciting offerings is a taste of Korea. Fans can sample Korean bubble waffles filled with everything from savory chicken to sweet ice cream, alongside crispy new Korean corndogs. Chef Nick Toth from Levy Restaurants highlights a spicy favorite called "El Diablo," featuring mozzarella cheese and flaming hot Cheetos, sure to be a hit.

Other newcomers include strawberry cream nachos, a smashburger patty melt, and loaded brisket cheese curds. Each dish has been designed to incorporate vibrant flavors, blending crispy, spicy, and sweet elements.

Returning this season is the popular chocolate campfire milkshake, now accompanied by a special celebration cake shake. This treat celebrates the White Sox’s 125th anniversary, packed with funfetti cake, whipped cream, and colorful sprinkles that echo the festive atmosphere of the South Side.

With the team facing a challenging season—having lost a record 121 games in 2024—creating a memorable experience for fans is essential. Team marketing director Brooks Boyer acknowledges that though they can’t change what happens on the field, they can enhance everything else, ensuring fans enjoy their time at the ballpark.

In addition to new culinary experiences, the ballpark itself has a new name. "Guaranteed Rate Field" is now simply "Rate Field," a shorter nod to its sponsor.

The changes resonate with fans on social media too. Many supporters share their excitement about the food options, sparking trends and conversations online. According to recent surveys, over 70% of fans enjoy the food at sports events as much as the game itself, highlighting the significance of enhancing the ballpark experience.
