Leaked images suggest that Google will soon roll out a special November update for Pixel devices, featuring exciting new elements. Traditionally, these updates bring fresh features and improvements, and it looks like this one might surprise us sooner than expected.
A group known as Mystic Leaks shared screenshots of the Pixel Tips app, highlighting three standout features heading our way:
- Pixel Theme Packs
- Pixel Studio animations
- Pixel VIP notifications
Let’s dive into each of these features. First up is the Pixel Theme Packs. This feature aims to make personalization effortless. Users can easily apply a set theme with just one tap. The initial theme pack is titled “Wicked: For Good” and will include themes inspired by characters from the popular musical. Besides changing wallpapers and icons, it also might alter sounds and GIFs to match the theme.

Next, we have a fun addition with Pixel Studio animations. This will allow users to transform any image into a GIF or animated sticker seamlessly. A quick video shows how easy this can be, even letting users animate images based on text prompts.

Lastly, there’s an upgrade for the Pixel VIP feature, first introduced in June. Originally, it offered a widget for highlighting messages from “VIP” contacts. The November update enhances this by giving prioritized notifications for messages from Google Messages and WhatsApp. These messages will be highlighted in yellow and display the contact’s photo in the status bar.

While the update is expected to roll out around November 4, it’s curious that there’s a small typo in the Pixel Tips app description. This, along with the timing of this update just before the QPR2 release, has raised some eyebrows in the tech community.
To add some context, over the years, tablet and smartphone updates have become quicker and more frequent. A 2022 study showed that 73% of consumers prefer brands that offer regular updates, indicating users crave innovation. It will be interesting to see how these new features resonate with the Pixel community once they’re available.
