Exciting Preview: Duquesne Cross Country Takes on UVA – Join the Action!

PITTSBURGH – The Duquesne cross country teams are gearing up for the Panorama Farms Invitational at the University of Virginia this Friday. It’s their last race before the Atlantic 10 Championships.

Last Time Out
Recently, Duquesne had a smaller team at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational. Gina Bolla shone brightly, recording a personal best in the 5K and finishing third overall, earning her Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week recognition. In another event, 20 Dukes competed in the Paul Short Run. Ben Shields stood out with a 16th-place finish in the Brown Division. Sylvia Kashak led the women in her first year, finishing 77th in the Brown Race. This season, Shields and Nathaniel Woshner have consistently been top performers for the men. The women’s leader has varied; Gina Bolla took first at Saint Francis, while Lauren Ciuca and Kashak led in other races.

What’s Next
After this invitational, the Dukes will have a week off before the Atlantic 10 Championships on Nov. 1. The men’s race is set for 10 a.m., followed by the women’s at 10:50 a.m. The meet will take place at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course in Cedarville, Ohio.
