Seedings Announced for 2026 Big South Women’s Lacrosse Championship
In an exciting announcement, Mercer University has claimed the No. 1 seed for the upcoming Big South Women’s Lacrosse Championship. This marks the fifth consecutive year that Mercer has topped the rankings. The Bears finished undefeated in conference play, achieving an 8-0 record and hoping to secure their fifth straight title.
High Point comes in as the No. 2 seed, with a strong 7-1 record. Wofford follows closely at No. 3 with a 6-2 record, while Furman takes the No. 4 seed at 5-3. Radford, finishing with a 3-5 record, is back in the tournament for the first time since 2021, earning the No. 5 seed. Longwood rounds out the bracket at No. 6 with a 2-6 record.
The first round of the championship will kick off on Tuesday, April 28. Matches will take place at campus sites. Furman will host Radford, and Wofford will welcome Longwood. The winners will advance to the semifinals at Mercer on May 1.
All championship matches will be available for streaming on ESPN+. The tournament champion will secure an automatic bid to the NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Championship.
