Harvard Women’s Basketball Faces Delaware in Final Non-Conference Game
On December 29, the Harvard women’s basketball team (6-6) will face the Delaware Blue Hens (6-5) in their last non-conference matchup of the season. The game will take place at 1:00 p.m. ET at Lavietes Pavilion and will be available on ESPN+.
What to Know
This season, the Crimson has played a total of 13 non-conference games and will begin their Ivy League schedule next. They kicked off their season with nine non-conference games in November, eight of which were away. The team’s record stands at 4-5, having tackled a tough lineup that included several high-profile opponents like Michigan, Cal, Boston College, Alabama, and Arkansas.
Recently, Harvard suffered a narrow defeat against Maine, losing 59-57. Abigail Wright was a standout in that game, scoring 22 points and grabbing nine rebounds, marking her second consecutive game with over 20 points. She currently leads the team in scoring.
Saniyah Glenn-Bello also had a solid performance, contributing 12 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and four blocks. Meanwhile, Karlee White made her return to the court after an injury, having previously averaged 14.2 points and 1.7 steals per game before her time off.
Wright has been exceptional this season, ranking fourth in scoring (15.2 points) and sixth in rebounds (7.1) in the Ivy League. She’s also among the top offensive rebounders in the nation, averaging 4.5 per game. Glenn-Bello and Katie Krupa are crucial to the team’s defense, each averaging over a block per game.
Before the season started, Harvard named juniors White and Wright as captains for the 2025-26 season. Head Coach Carrie Moore has also garnered attention, being named to the preseason watch list for the 2026 Kathy Delaney-Smith Mid-Major Coach of the Year Award after finishing as a finalist the previous year.
According to the latest NET Rankings, Harvard sits at 77, holding the third-best NET score in the Ivy League, just behind Columbia and Princeton. Preseason predictions placed Harvard third in the Ivy League, with 126 points and one first-place vote.
Historically, Harvard has had a strong record against Delaware, winning both prior matchups. Last season’s game was cancelled, but the previous meeting saw Harvard defeat the Blue Hens by 30 points.
Looking Ahead
After this non-conference finale, Harvard will shift focus to the Ivy League, starting with a game against Dartmouth on January 3 at 2:00 p.m. ET. With their eyes set on the championship, every game counts.
