MONROE, La. – The ULM tennis team, with a record of 3-3, is all set to kick off conference play at home against Arkansas State, who stands at 7-4. This exciting matchup will take place Monday, March 9, at 10 a.m. The Warhawks are coming off a narrow victory over Jackson State, while the Red Wolves recently achieved a shutout win against Lamar.
This will be the second consecutive year the Warhawks face the Red Wolves in Monroe. In their last encounter on March 16, 2024, ULM fell to Arkansas State with a score of 0-4. The Warhawks haven’t secured a win against the Red Wolves in Monroe since 2022, when they suffered a 4-1 loss.
In their latest match, ULM edged Jackson State with a close 4-3 victory. They started strong by winning the doubles point, and then Mariam Hatem, Vanja Cado, and Mariia Iordanova each delivered wins in their singles matches to clinch the win.
For Arkansas State, their recent match was impressive, as they recorded a decisive 4-0 shutout against Lamar. They also secured the doubles point and went on to win three singles matches, leaving others unfinished.
Looking ahead, the Warhawks will travel to face Texas State in San Marcos on Friday, March 14, with the first serve set for 1 p.m.
