Minnesota Wild Acquire Forward Michael McCarron
The Minnesota Wild made a notable move by acquiring forward Michael McCarron from the Nashville Predators. In exchange, they send a second-round pick in the 2028 NHL Draft to Nashville.
At 30 years old, McCarron has had a solid season with Nashville, scoring 12 points (five goals and seven assists) while also racking up 73 penalty minutes. His impressive face-off success rate stands at 52.8%. Notably, he leads the Predators with a career-high of 165 hits this season, placing him tied for 17th in the NHL. Over his career, McCarron, who stands 6-foot-6 and weighs 232 pounds, has played in 361 games, contributing 74 points and 495 penalty minutes.
McCarron’s experience includes nine playoff games with the Montreal Canadiens and Predators. He was part of the U.S. team that won a gold medal at the 2025 IIHF World Championship, showcasing his international talent with two points in the tournament.
Before joining the NHL, McCarron played in the American Hockey League (AHL) for seven seasons, where he notched 141 points in 262 games. His storied journey began in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), where he helped the Oshawa Generals win the 2015 Memorial Cup.
