Exciting U-23 Men’s Softball World Cup Oceania Qualifier Coming to Palmerston North, New Zealand!

WBSC Softball Oceania is gearing up for the 2025 WBSC Oceania U-23 Men’s Softball Qualification Event. This exciting competition will happen from April 4 to 6 in Palmerston North, New Zealand. World No. 2 and defending champions, Australia, will be there to compete for one of the two qualifying spots for the World Cup next year.

The games will take place at Colquhoun Park, a venue that recently got upgrades to host important events. These improvements were made ahead of the WBSC U-18 Men’s Softball World Cup in February 2020. Alison Kensington, the Manawatū Softball Association’s former chairwoman, shared her enthusiasm saying, “The World Cup is going to leave a huge legacy for Manawatū softball. We’ll have top-class facilities for the next 50 years.”

Alongside the U-23 qualifier, New Zealand and Australia’s U-18 men’s national teams will play test matches during the same weekend. This is a great opportunity for them to prepare for their upcoming international challenges.

Looking ahead, the WBSC Oceania calendar also features the Pacific Mini Games in Palau, which will include baseball as part of the sports lineup. The softball events will take place from June 30 to July 5, with the finals set for July 7 and 8 at Softball Field Meyuns.
