The upcoming Vision Pro is likely to include Apple’s M4 processor. This chip was introduced in the latest iPad Pro and has since been adopted in new Mac models. Testing shows the M4 offers about 50% better multicore CPU performance and a 20-25% boost in graphics capabilities compared to the M2 chip. These enhancements are particularly crucial for the Vision Pro, which needs to deliver high-resolution visuals with minimal delay. Additionally, improvements in video encoding and image processing should enhance the headset’s passthrough video quality.

Apple is also redesigning the headbands to lessen neck strain and discomfort during extended use. While the redesign focuses on comfort, the overall look of the headset will remain similar, likely keeping its weight around 1.3–1.4 pounds.

As for pricing, the report doesn’t specify any changes. However, Apple has generally adjusted prices for M4-equipped Macs by increasing the standard RAM from 8GB to 16GB. Although significant price drops for the Vision Pro aren’t expected, even a modest reduction could make it more appealing to a broader audience.

Statista reports that the AR market is projected to reach $198 billion by 2025, driven by advancements in technology and content creation.
